Selene House

SH/RT-00 — Threshold

Dark water surface stilled by falling rings of rain

SH · Duxton Hill

Selene House

A house of still water. Four rituals of heat, stone and quiet — practised slowly, above a shophouse lane.

SH/RT-00

The Rituals

Duration
90–150 min
Temperature
24–65°C
From
S$120

Four passages. One house.

A quiet stone room holding one window of morning light

Philosophy

Water teaches by waiting

Nothing here is rushed, scrubbed, or optimised. Heat opens. Stone presses. Stillness finishes what the hands begin.

We keep one pool at rest, one room in steam, one shelf of warm basalt, and one hour with nothing in it at all. You move through them in sequence, or you choose a single door and stay. Either way, you leave the street outside.

Dark water at rest, holding the last of the light

Ritual 01

Soak

Ninety minutes in spring-salt water held at 38 degrees — a half-degree above the body, so the line between you and the pool goes quiet.

  • Private timber pool, drawn once per guest
  • Cold-well plunge and warm rinse
  • Linen, oils and unhurried time

SH/RT-02

The Soak

Duration
90 min
Temperature
38°C spring-salt
Price
S$180

A pool kept at rest.

Cedar sauna benches under low light and drifting steam

Ritual 02

Steam

Forty-five minutes of cedar heat at 65 degrees, ladled by hand. Warmth arrives in tides; you breathe, and the day lets go.

  • Cedar steam room, six guests at most
  • Eucalyptus and clove infusions on the hour
  • Cool-down court with chilled towels

SH/RT-03

The Steam

Duration
45 min
Temperature
65°C cedar
Price
S$120

Heat that opens, not exhausts.

A field of pale sea-worn pebbles, bone and sand toned

Ritual 03

Stone

Two hours under river stone warmed to 52 degrees, placed along the spine and left to work. The weight does what effort cannot.

  • Full-body warm stone placement and massage
  • Neck, hand and foot work between placements
  • Closing rest under weighted linen

SH/RT-04

The Stone

Duration
120 min
Temperature
52°C basalt
Price
S$240

Weight, warmth, release.

River stones held in drifting mist

Ritual 04

Stillness

The long ritual: soak, steam and stone in sequence, then an hour in the quiet room — dim, warm, phoneless — where nothing at all is asked of you.

  • All three rituals, unhurried, in order
  • The quiet room, reserved solely for you
  • Tea and dates at the long table to close

SH/RT-05

The Stillness

Duration
150 min
Temperature
24°C ambient
Price
S$260

An hour with nothing in it.

The House

Three floors of quiet

A 1929 shophouse, unhurriedly restored: stone floors that hold the cool, timber that holds the warmth, and light that arrives sideways, through linen.
